1. WHO WE ARE

SNIPPY is a personal bill tracking application developed and operated by an individual developer based in California. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@snippyapp.net.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your first name, last name, and email address when you create an account or sign in with Google.
• Bill data — bill names, amounts, due dates, categories, paid status, and notes that you enter into the app.
• Budget data — your monthly budget amount if you choose to set one.
• Authentication data — managed by Firebase Authentication (Google). We do not store your password directly.
• Usage preferences — tab selections, filter preferences, and sort settings stored locally on your device via localStorage.
• AI Analysis responses — if you are a Pro user, your answers to AI clarifying questions are stored in your Firestore profile to improve future insights.

We do not collect location data, device identifiers, browsing history, or any data beyond what you explicitly provide.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is used solely to:

• Provide and sync your bill tracking data across sessions
• Personalize your experience (e.g., displaying your first name)
• Generate AI-powered bill insights for Pro users via Anthropic's Claude API
• Process payments for Pro tier access via Stripe
• Respond to support requests you initiate
• Send bill due date notifications if you enable them

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. HOW WE STORE YOUR DATA

Your bill and account data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database service provided by Google LLC. Data is stored in the United States. Firebase is governed by Google's privacy policies and security standards.

Preference data (active tab, filter selections) is stored locally on your device in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to our servers.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

SNIPPY uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication — handles secure sign-in via email/password and Google OAuth. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Firebase Firestore — stores your bill and account data securely in the cloud.
• Google Fonts — loads fonts (IBM Plex Mono, Bebas Neue) from Google's servers.
• Stripe — processes payments for Pro subscriptions. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Netlify — hosts and serves the application.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — Pro users only. When you trigger AI Analysis, a summary of your bill data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your daily insight. This data is transmitted via our secure server-side proxy and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the API call, per Anthropic's standard API data usage policy. Anthropic Privacy Policy

We do not share your personal data with these services beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

6. DATA RETENTION

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the app via Settings → Billing → Delete Account. Alternatively, you may contact us at support@snippyapp.net and we will process your deletion request within 30 days.

7. YOUR RIGHTS (CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS — CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know — what personal information we collect and how we use it
• Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information
• Right to opt-out — we do not sell personal information, so this right is not applicable
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA)

SNIPPY is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. SECURITY

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including Firebase security rules that ensure each user can only access their own data, server-side token verification on all API calls, and encrypted transmission of all data via HTTPS. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Use the app at your own risk and keep your account credentials private.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SNIPPY after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
